The chairman of the Bexleyheath and Crayford Conservative Association expressed his sadness upon hearing of the death of Margaret Thatcher.

Simon Windle said: “We are saddened to hear the news of Baroness Thatcher’s death earlier today.
“Her three General Elections victories, becoming the longest serving Prime Minister of the 20th Century, is testament to the good that she did for the United Kingdom.
“She was a good friend to Bexley, having met her husband Denis nearby in Dartford, and was a great support to David Evennett MP when first elected in 1983. Our thoughts and sympathies are with her two children and the rest of her family at this time of their loss.”
