This summer of sport will have inspired many to get up off their sofas and throw themselves into a new activity and an innovative Bexleyheath business is looking to cash in on the feelgood factor

A fun day out with Xtreme VortexA fun day out with Xtreme Vortex

Xtreme Vortex will be aiming to make the most of any sporting legacy which comes their way from the London Olympic Games.

Set up in 2006 the company is co-owned by Donna Dowling, 27, and Andy Green, 27, both from Bexleyheath, and supplies fun and exciting indoor and outdoor activities for hire.

The company prides itself on its professional approach and is the proud winner of both TIPE Operator of the Year 2012 and Dragons Den star, Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday (SBS) awarded last year.

Donna said: “The company has been doing really well recently considering we are in the middle of a recession.

“Recently we had a women’s only event where they would have to carry out a 10k run, canoeing, climbing and then a cycle.

“It’s myself and Andy that run the company so it has been really hectic but we enjoy doing what we do.”

The company has had private bookings as well as events for large brands such as ASDA, Bravo, Cable and Wireless, DHL, Network Rail, Tate and Lyle and The Daily Telegraph.

The activities they hire include a mobile rock climbing wall, a laser tag arena and a bouldering wall.

They also have a selection of activities and fun inflatables to rent, such as beach volleyball, human table football and indoor activities including scalextric racing.

The mobile activities have been hired for events such as family fun days, team building, corporate product launches, health and safety days, Olympic events, fundraisers, birthday parties and community events such as fetes and fayres.

Donna added: “Unlike many other activity providers, the company owns all its own equipment and provides fully-trained members of staff on the day who have been CRB checked.”

There is also always at least one first aid trained member of staff at the event.

All activities provided by Xtreme Vortex for your event or activity day are insured with £5million public liability insurance and all activities have a full five step approach risk assessment.

All of the activities are regularly safety checked and PAT tested.
