The organisations plan to work together closely on future fundraising campaigns
Bexleyheath cadets from 107 detachment Royal Signals have become affiliated with the Welling and Bexleyheath branch of The Royal British Legion (RBL) after raising more than £3,000 pounds for last year’s poppy appeal.
The affiliation took place last Wednesday (September 21) at the Bexleyheath Army Reserve Centre, and was signed by detachment commander Marie O’Sullivan and membership secretary Ken Sprowles, with Peter Holden the branch chairman presenting the certificate to south-east London based cadets.
Mr Sprowles said: “We are honoured that the young adults of the cadets have supported the legion and the local community in Bexleyheath in the past and we are looking forward to the direct contribution the cadet force will give in the future.”
The cadets will in future be working closely with the Royal British Legion on fundraising events aimed at raising the profile of the charitable causes that the RBL supports and to promote mutual community support.
