HMV in Bexleyheath Broadway will close its doors for good today (21).

Administrator Deloitte announced last month 66 stores will close across the country, in a move set to cost nearly 1,000 jobs - 14 of which will be in Bexleyheath.

People took to Twitter to express their sadness at the closure of the branch.

@DannyHackett said: “Some good deals in HMV Bexleyheath. Feel sorry for the poor staff. #HMV.”

@SonofPurple added: “A doff of cap to HMV Bexleyheath, closing today after 19 years of sage service. Thank you, quite literally, for the music.”

@_n4is said: “Going into HMV in bexleyheath and seeing it so bare is just heartbreaking I’m in tears.”

Nick Edwards, part of the administration team at Deloitte, said: “This step has been taken in order to enhance the prospects of securing the business’ future as a going concern.

“We continue to receive strong support from staff and are extremely grateful to them for their commitment during an understandably difficult period.”
