Bexley police set up the event and brought experts along

Bexley police have dubbed its Bike Safety Day in Bexleyheath town centre a success.

A spokesperson for the branch, said: “Great to see everyone at the event. It was very busy from the start with bike marking, bike register, and free safety checks from our partners Whites Cycles, and Bexley Bikes and Wheelies - a big thank you to them for sharing their time and expertise.

“We hope you enjoyed the experience of swapping places with the lorry driver from our cycle safety team and a bus driver in a double decker bus supplied by out local safer transport team and Transport for London. We also hope you had the chance to make your own smoothie by the power of cycling, supplied by the town centre bid team.

“If you missed us today and want your bike marked, please contact your local safer neighbourhood team so we can arrange additional local events to you.”
