Crook Log Primary School marked its diamond jubilee with an assembly of celebration.
The school was opened 60 years ago, in 1952, by politician Lord Cornwallis.
Fittingly, the event at the Bexleyheath School last week was attended by his great grandson, Alexander Cornwallis, as well as the Mayor and Mayoress of Bexley Cllrs Alan and Ross Downing.
All were presented with a poem written by the year six children to celebrate the anniversary.
Headteacher Karen Donovan played a slide with some old pictures and photographs of the school and how it has been developed over the past six decades.
Throughout the week there have been a number of other activities going on during the week, including each year group performing a song from a particular decade.
