A body of a woman has been found washed up on a beach.

The woman, in her 50s, and from the Sidcup area, was found at Minnis Bay, in Birchington, near Margate yesterday morning at 7.30am.

The body was spotted by a dog walker and is believed to have been washed in by the tide. The death is being treated as unexplained, pending the results of a post mortem. This is expected to be conducted next week.
