London Mayor Boris Johnson visited a family-run Crayford business to celebrate its 10th anniversary and show his support for small businesses.

Company directors (and brothers) Avtar and Raghbir Sandhu greeted Mr Johnson this morning (October 11) at their headquarters in Optima Business Park and the Mayor revealed a plaque celebrating 10 years of hard work.

Avtar said: “Having hosted some great events over the years the Mayor’s visit was overwhelming.

“Our plans have always been to work with exhibition centres and private events nationwide and Mr Johnson’s visit is a real endorsement on the company.”

Bar manager Aman Bains and Mr Johnson both mixed a blue cocktail which the latter named The Bexley Breeze Block.

Avtar and Raghbir started Mobile Bar Hire as a part-time venture while they were both traffic officers for the Dartford Crossing, jobs they packed in three years ago to go full-time.

The Mayor said: “Mobile Bar Hire is a classic example of a local family run business that has great ideas, passion and commitment.

“The Sandhu’s have the can-do spirit and this type of entrepreneurial spirit is what is needed to drive business and jobs forward.”
