Police are appealing for witnesses

Police are hunting for a gang of teenagers who knocked a boy unconscious in an assault in Abbey Wood.

The 17-year-old was walking along Overton Road when a group of young men on motorbikes approached him, jumped off their bikes and punched him in the face repeatedly until he fell to the floor and was knocked out.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened at about 6.15pm on Tuesday, June 2.

The attackers were aged between 17 and 20; some were white and some were black.

One white man was wearing a bright red top with long blue sleeves, with the word NIKE across the chest in red with a white outline.
