Potential foster carers in Bexley are encouraged to take the plunge this month.

National fostering fortnight starts on Monday (May 13) and runs until next Sunday, May 26.

Cabinet member for children services and community safety Cllr Katie Perrior said; “We are looking for local people to put themselves in the frame, do something amazing and take up fostering for Bexley.

“There really is no set template for a foster carer. They can be single, married, gay or lesbian, live in a house or a flat, have their own children or not. The thing they need to be able to offer is a loving and supportive home.

“I would urge anyone that may be thinking of taking the plunge to come along to one of our information roadshows or contact the team for an informal chat. They are all extremely experienced and will be able to answer any of your questions.”

Bexley’s fostering team will be out and about across the borough encouraging as many people as possible to find out more.
