Callum Harriott’s netted a hat-trick to secure a third win in four games for Charlton who finished their Championship campaign in 18th place.

The 20-year-old made it five goals in two games on Saturday after he scored a brace against Watford earlier in the week.

And Harriott’s clinical finishing was again the difference between the sides on Saturday against Blackpool who despite losing, retained their Championship status after a turbulent season.

Charlton went one up on 61 minutes with a tidy finish from Harriott, before going onto to complete his three-goal feat eight minutes from time.

Matt Gilks, Blackpool’s goalkeeper, had no chance with Harriott’s second goal - a left-footed strike after brilliant work by Jon Obika.

Speaking after the match, Charlton manager Jose Riga hailed Harriott’s performance, but added a word of caution.

He said: “[Harriott] has speed, he has pace and it’s more a question of trying to manage his emotions.

“Everybody knows that he has talent.”
