Car chase through St Paul’s Cray after vehicle fails to stop

Officers pursued a vehicle after it failed to stop.

The officers on patrol in St Paul’s Cray attempted to stop the Volkswagen Golf at around 6.30pm on May 9.

They pursued the car when it failed to pull over. It collided with another Volkswagen Golf on Sandy Lane, before crashing into a lamp post in Broom Avenue.

The driver of the car struck on Sandy Lane, a 28-year-old female, and an 8-year-old boy who was a passenger were taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.

The 23-year-old male driver of the vehicle that failed to stop was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

He has been bailed until June 11.

A 25-year-old female who was in the car with him was treated for minor injuries and has not been arrested.
