A YOUNG man had to be cut free from his wrecked vehicle after a driver lost control of his car and hit a garden wall and a tree.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Okehampton Crescent, Welling at 2am on Tuesday, August 19.

It is believed the driver, in his early 20s, lost control when the back of his car clipped a chicane and spun into a garden wall.

The passenger was trapped and fire crews from Bexleyheath used specialist equipment to cut the roof off the car.

He was put on spinal board and taken to hospital by ambulance, but is believed to have suffered only minor injuries.
