A free event takes place March 6

Students, parents and carers are being invited to find out more about apprenticeships next week.

The event is to help youngsters considering their post-16 options, or looking at alternatives to university.

Apprenticeship providers will be on hand along with a chance to get advice on the application process and to see what vacancies are available.

“The next step after education needs careful consideration and research,” said Rob Leitch, cabinet member for education.

“Not all apprenticeships are the same and many would be surprised to see the wide variety of options available.

“This event provides an friendly informal place for young people to come along and find out more about what’s on offer for them locally.”

The free event will take place from 6.30pm - 8.30pm at Civic Offices, Bexleyheath and is open to young people in years 11 - 13 (aged 15 - 18) and their parents or carers.
