Charges after robbery outside Thamesmead KFC

Three men have been charged with robbery and handling stolen goods after a cash-in transit robbery outside a Thamesmead KFC.

Robbers drove a vehicle at a guard in Twin Tumps Way, Thamesmead and stole a cash box containing £8,700, before two suspect vehicles made off, at approximately 3.15pm, on Monday.

Christopher Christou, 35, of Austen Close, Thamesmead was charged with two counts of robbery and handling stolen goods. Anthony Thomas, 33, and Charlie Godbolt, 33, both of no fixed address, were charged with robbery and handling stolen goods. The trio are due to appear at Tower Bridge Magistrates’ Court today.

A 35-year-old woman who was arrested with the men was released without charge.
