CELEBRITIES and former professional footballers will play a charity match in memory of a football fanatic.

The game will see former members of Eltham Royals Football Club play a squad of ex-Arsenal players and celebrities at Thamesmead Town FC, in Bayliss Avenue, on July 20 with kick-off at 3pm.

Darrell Bing, 37, of Dairsie Road, Eltham helped found the amateur club in 1986 but died last June after suffering from adrenal leukodystrophy for 15 years.

Mr Bing's mother, Ann, 66, said: "I think it's fantastic, he'd be so proud. His friends have been wonderful."

Tickets cost £2. To make a donation visit justgiving.com/darrellbing.
