A CHARITY has called for volunteers to help with space hopper races and a monkey-themed march at a festival.
Caudwell Children is the chosen charity for this year's Danson Festival, sponsored by the Times, in Bexleyheath, next weekend.
The charity, which raises money for sick and disabled children, is holding a number of events to raise funds including a fancy dress collection, a Grand Prix space hopper race and a 1km monkey-themed walk for toddlers and parents.
Volunteers are needed to donate a few hours of their time to oversee the events.
Chris Glynn, campaigns manager at Caudwell Children, said: "There are lots of ways the public can get involved in the festival and help us to raise funds.
"We really need the support of the community to help us make the event a success for the charity.
"By donating some of their spare time they will be making a huge difference and helping to change the lives of sick and disabled children."
The Danson Festival is a celebration of the Bexley community and has been established as one of the highlights of the summer calendar.
With attractions including live music, a fun fair and water zorbing, where festival goers can bounce around on Danson Lake in an inflatable ball, Danson Festival has something for all of the family and is expected to attract more than 60,000 visitors over the July weekend.
