FRIENDS have paid tribute to a 'cheeky but sensitive' young driver who was killed during a police chase.
Jack Bowers, 21, of Castleford Avenue, Eltham, failed to stop for officers in Copers Cope Road, Beckenham, last Thursday because he was breaking a curfew handed to him for assault.
He later crashed into a row of parked cars in The Avenue, Beckenham and was taken to University Hospital, Lewisham but died from head injuries last Friday.
Jamie Dell, 21, who went to school with Mr Bowers, said: "Many people have been affected by Jack's passing and we are all saddened that he is no longer with us. He was a typical Jack the Lad who was cheeky but sensitive to whom he knew. To those who are family and close friends to Jack, I am very sorry for your loss of a great man and he will never be forgotten."
Childhood friend Chanel Chambers, 22, said: "I have known Jack most of my life, In September we became really close and were spending everyday together, we always went and did the most random things from driving to Brighton at midnight or staying up all night to go to McDonalds for breakfast at 4am. I've got so many happy memories of Jack that I can keep with me forever.
