A CHEF has been charged with murdering a woman found dead in her home.

A CHEF has been charged with murdering a woman found dead in her home.

Lisa Beverley, 30, was killed at her home in Coupland Place, Plumstead, last Wednesday at approximately 6am.

She was pronounced dead when emergency services arrived at the scene and a post mortem at Greenwich Mortuary gave the cause of death as head injuries.

Adam Mann, 28, of Springfield Road, Welling, appeared at Woolwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with her murder on or before September 16.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey on December 29 this year when he is due to enter a plea.

Mann was arrested last Wednesday before being charged.

Police also arrested a 26-year-old woman on Monday, who has been bailed to return to a south London police station in early October pending further enquiries.

DCI Brian Mather, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are trying to piece together the last hours of Lisa's life and we urgently need to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious. I'd appeal to local residents to think back to Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning and whether they remember seeing someone hanging around or acting strangely in the area."

Anyone with information should call the incident room on 0208 345 3734 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
