The competition is free to enter
A child modelling competition is set to raise thousands of pounds for Great Ormond Street over the coming months.
The Broadway Model Tots competition, set up by the Broadway Shopping Centre in Bexleyheath, normally receives thousands of entries as 28-year-old competition offers a top modelling contract to the winner.
And for the first time in its history, the free to enter event will be helping be raising funds for charity.
For each entry, sponsor Nigel Barrett photography will donate £1 to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
The mum of one of last year’s winners encouraged other parents to enter their children.
Crayford’s Sara Choudhury, mum to Grace, aged five, said: “We’d never put her forward for anything like that before. She just looked really pretty that day and just posed naturally.
“She has a very photogenic face. We now have a beautiful trophy which means a lot to us but she was more interested in the toys she won as a prize.”
Peter Sedge, general manager at Broadway Shopping Centre, said: “Our Model Tots competition is always very popular and a lot of fun for the families who enter.
“I’m delighted that this year’s event will be raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, it’s a wonderful way for us to help put something back into the community.”
Between May 9 and May 29, parents can bring children up to the age of five to be photographed. Two studios will be open between 10am and 4pm seven days a week.
The winner is usually chosen in early June and the prize giving takes place later in the month at Bexley Civic Offices, attended by the Mayor of Bexley.
