A FREE cycling training course is taking place for children during the Easter holidays.

Bexley's youngsters can sign-up for a free cyclist training course organised by the council, which will run throughout the Easter holidays.

The lessons aim to give cyclists basic safety awareness using a mixture of fun off-road exercises and practical on-road training.

Courses are open to anyone aged ten or over, who live or go to school in the borough.

Each course is ten hours long, either two hours each day over five days, or two-and-a-half hours each day over four days.

Children must attend every session for the whole week to complete the course and must provide a roadworthy bicycle and an approved cycle helmet.

Courses start next Tuesday at Sherwood Park Primary School in Sherwood Park Avenue, Sidcup, and Erith School, in Avenue Road, Erith.

The next batch begin on Monday, April 12, at Welling School in Elsa Road, Welling, and Hurstmere School in Hurst Road, Sidcup.

To book a place call the Road Safety Unit on 020 8308 7857 or email roadsafetyeducation@bexley.gov.uk.
