Five Bexley schools took part in a lively and challenging evening public speaking competition organised by Bexley Council.
The annual Bexley Schools’ Public Speaking Competition was attended by temas from Bexley Grammar, Chislehurst and Sidcup, Erith, St Columba’s Catholic Boys’ and Trinity Church of England schools.
It took place at the civic offices in Bexleyheath on Wednesday (13).
Chislehurst and Sidcup School came out on top and were presented with the Brian Sams Memorial Cup, which has been awarded every year since 1994, by Bexley Mayor Cllr Alan Downing.
He said: “These Bexley youngsters have performed magnificently this evening and they and we should be very proud of their achievements.
“I feel certain that one or two of them will be back in the Council chamber before too long, speaking on behalf of their fellow citizens of the borough.”
All participants were given a medal for their efforts.
