A morning of fundraising fun raised more than £200 for a Crayford church.

The Friends of St Paulinus Church hosted a coffee morning event at the Crayford home of John and Lesley Holbrook, on Saturday, November 25.

Members of the Friends group tucked into homemade cakes, washing them down with tea and coffee.

A raffle was also held as part of the social event, and a total of more than £200 was raised overall.

Guests included Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett, and Barnehurst councillor Howard Marriner.

Dorothy Pennington-Jones, chairwoman of the Friends of St Paulinus Church, welcomed the members and guests, and thanked John and Lesley Holbrook for hosting the occasion.

Mr Evennett said: “At the present time, the Friends of St Paulinus are raising funds to help the St Paulinus restoration project and it was good to be able to support the event.”

The Friends group was formed in 1966, by businessmen and women and residents who wanted to support the Norman church. For details of their activities and membership fees, visit http://stpaulinus.co.uk/friends-of-st-paulinus.
