The Larner Road litter pick

Community spirit was in full force during a litter pick on an Erith estate.

Residents who live in Larner Road took part in the event last Thursday (October 4) and 15 participants collected about 50 bags of rubbish in two hours.

Staff from McDonalds in Erith and Orbit South, a housing association, who are leading a large-scale regeneration of the area, also took part.

Resident Tracey Kember: “It is really nice to see people from local businesses rolling their sleeves up and working with us to help clean up the area.

“It was a brilliant day and I can’t wait for the next litter pick!”

Maddassar Arif, an officer for Orbit, said: “We hope the residents of Larner Road enjoy it in the weeks to come!”
