An investigation is underway after a collision between a black estate car and a Vauxhall Vectra that happened moments before a fatal crash in Greenwich.

The black car did not stop and is believed to have continued towards the Blackwall Tunnel.

Moments later Pourosh Begum from Tower Hamlets was killed in the Blackwall Tunnel near the Sun in the Sands roundabout on July 21 when a Honda Jazz hit the back of her Nissan Micra, as reported in the Times.

A 14-year-old boy and a baby both suffered head injuries in the crash and have since been released from the Royal London Hospital. The driver in the Honda Jazz was uninjured.

Sergeant Alan Adams of Catford Collision Unit said: "I know two incidents occurred only moments apart and I need to establish exactly what happened.

"This is a busy road and I'm sure some of its users will have seen this dark vehicle making off."

Call Sergeant Adams on 020 8285 1574 or, to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
