Crayford blaze damages recycling plant

Fire crews were called to a blaze in a recycling plantin Crayford last night.

The blaze, in Crayford Road, damaged part of an electrical shredding unit but no one was hurt.

Four engines from Bexley, Plumstead and Erith stations attended the scene. The brigade was called just before 6pm and took almost three hours to get under control.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
