Crayford flooded after burst Thames Water pipe

A burst water main in Crayford saw the town flooded this morning.

Bus routes 96, 428 and 492 were subject to diversions after a pipe burst between Roman Way and Station Road at 2am.

Thames Water engineers have spent hours battling the flooding near Crayford Town Hall and Crayford Road is closed in both directions. McDonald’s was temporarily closed due to lack of water supply.

A spokesman for the company said: “Crayford Road is shut to traffic after a large water main burst early today.

“This is likely to affect water pressure to customers’ taps in the area.

“Our engineers are at the scene now working to sort out this problem as soon as possible. We are sorry to everyone inconvenienced by this.”
