Reverend Joe Hogarth marked the anniversary by performing mass at St Paulinus Church

A Crayford priest celebrated his 50th anniversary of his ordination on June 15.

Reverend Joe Hogarth performed a mass on Corpus Christi day at St Paulinus Church in Crayford where he still serves as associate priest.

Rev Hogarth and his wife Kitty came from the north east of England where they served throughout his ministry before retiring to Crayford 20 years ago to be near their con Andrew.

Rev, Hogarth officiated at the service and preached the sermon. He talked about his career, his family and the important rolf for the church in today’s troubled world.

Newly re-elected MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford David Evennett and his wife Marilyn, as well as reverend James Crockford plus friends, familt and the church congregation came together for the anniversary service.

Afterwards they socialised and chatted over refreshments while giving Rev Hogarth their congratulations.
