A Crayford woman took part in a charity haircut to show solidarity with a six-year-old girl who has alopecia.

Jay Freeborn, 26, went for the snip last Saturday (July 6) to support Ellie Webb, the daughter of her friend Beverley.

The Royston Road resident said: “It was very nerve-wracking because I’ve never had that much hair cut off before.

“My first thought was “oh my god, where’s all my hair gone,” but it’s for a good cause so that makes it worthwhile.”

The money raised, which is around £1,300 so far, will go towards The Little Princess Trust. The charity provides real hair wigs for children who have suffered from hair loss.
