WITNESSES say a van driver deliberately drove into a cyclist leaving him seriously injured.

The Mercedes collided with the cyclist in Haddon Road, Sidcup, leaving him with serious injuries to his left leg.

Police are still looking for the van driver after the incident last Thursday at around 6pm.

The three men inside the van were white and aged between 20 and 30-years-old.

Police told the Times that witnesses told officers the van driver drove into the cyclist on purpose.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Graham Smith said: "I want to speak to anyone who has not already come forward who may have witnessed the incident. I am also interested in talking to anyone who may recognise the description of the white Mercedes panel van.

"It has a cracked windscreen on the driver's side and red and green gas cylinder stickers on the offside rear door."

If you have any information call the police on 020 8284 9237 or, to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
