Bexleyheath and Crayford’s Conservative MP David Evennett has retained his role as a government whip, as Theresa May continues to shuffle her pack since becoming prime minister last week.

Mr Evennett was appointed to the role of Lord Commissioner to HM Treasury during the last government.

Since the return of Tracey Crouch from maternity leave, Mr Evennett is no longer the acting sports minister.

He said: “I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed to join the new government and look forward to helping to implement the new prime minister’s one nation Conservative agenda.”
