A COUPLE made a splash on a romantic holiday when they tied the knot more than 100ft under water.

Raymond Boulger, from Sidcup, surprised his partner Kelly Diplock by popping the question as the were scuba diving in Montego Bay, Jamaica last (week).

And just three days later, the couple who have been together for five years got married at their luxury Sandals resort.

London Engineer Mr Boulger, 36, said: "I wanted to do something different and our Sandals holiday seemed like the perfect opportunity. We both love to scuba dive so once we arrived on the resort, I immediately arranged for us to go diving the following day."

While deep sea diving on day two, Mr Boulger wrote the question 'Will You Marry Me?' on an underwater writing slate and a shocked Ms Diplock wrote back 'YES'.

They married three days later in an intimate ceremony, also secretly planned by the groom, in the Frank Warren Chapel in the resort.

Wedding consultant Lisa-Marie Chambers and Alecia Samuels helped the couple get their wedding outfits in time and made sure they had a romantic and memorable day.

Ms Chambers said: "Our mission is to create wonderful memories for our guests' special day. We were so happy we could assist Raymond in making this a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience for him and his bride."

At the time of going to press, the couple were still in Jamaica enjoying the rest of their 10-day holiday and are due to return to their Sidcup home next week.
