The doors of the most historic and beautiful buildings in the borough will be opened this weekend as part of a London wide architecture festival.

Open House London is a free event where residents can visit a number of buildings across Bexley and beyond and experience some of the architectural gems the city has to offer.

One of the properties on show this Sunday will be the historic Danson House which was built around 1766.

The house includes a stunning dining room with the original 18th century wall paintings, an elegant salon and an opulent library with the Danson organ which is still played at recitals in the house.

Events officer Sarah Fosker said: “We’re really excited about taking part in the event this year. It was incredibly busy last year and we hope that people will be understanding that they may have to queue.

“We’ll also be doing mini tours of the principal floor.”
