Council workers are on scene

Motorists are facing disruption today (Thursday) as Storm Doris batters the south east.

As well as the Dartford Crossing’s QEII Bridge being closed, two roads in Bexley and Crayford are facing closures due to fallen trees.

Dartford Road and Maiden Lane have both seen the trees fall.

The fall on Maiden Lane has forced traffic to divert away from the road and instead drive through Crayford, according to one eyewitness.

A Bexley council spokesperson confirmed they were aware and both falls were being ‘worked on’.

Earlier today, a tweet from the council’s official Twitter account read: “We are ready for #doris if she pays us a visit! We provide 24 hour emergency service to deal with issues that may arise.”

There is also major disruption including cancellations on Southeastern services today.
