A MOTORIST banned from driving has been remanded in custody after pleading guilty to failing to stop for police and driving with no insurance.

A MOTORIST banned from driving has been remanded in custody after pleading guilty to failing to stop for police and driving with no insurance.

Martin King, 24, was chased by police after driving a stolen Volkswagen from Hastings back to his home in Abbey Wood on November 7. He tried to overtake police but ended up crashing into a hedge on the A21.

King appeared at Hastings Magistrates on Monday and also pleaded guilty to obstructing police and indicated a guilty plea for handling stolen goods.

He was remanded at Lewis prison until he appears again at Hastings Magistrates on December 12.
