A PROLIFIC cocaine smuggler has been jailed for 25 years by an Irish court.

Joe Daly, 41, of Carisbrook Avenue, Bexley, was caught with two other Englishmen off West Cork coast last July when his boat bearing 1.5 tonnes of cocaine capsized. The court heard during the 42-day trial that the smugglers' boat was filled with diesel instead of petrol. The trio's stash was worth over £345 million.

Accomplices, Perry Wharrie, 48, from Essex, and Martin Wanden, 41, of no fixed address, were given 30 years each.
