A MUSIC teacher who admitted downloading child pornography on his home computer is due to be sentenced.

Derek Coverley, 61, of Northdown Road, Welling, spent two years building a library of pictures, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.

The drummer, who is a member of an aging rock band, admitted ten counts of making indecent images of children between March 2007 and last April.

He is due to be sentenced next Thursday after Judge Geoffrey Rivlin adjourned the original date so that a pre-sentence report could be prepared by the probation service.

Coverley has been ordered to comply with a sexual offence prevention order which states he is not allowed to do any paid or unpaid work which is likely to bring him into contact with under 18s.
