She will be at WH Smith in the Broadway shopping centre from 2pm
Eastenders star Pam St Clement will sign copies of her autobiography at the Broadway shopping centre in Bexleyheath today.
The actress, who played Pat Butcher and attended the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in Sidcup, will be at WH Smith from 2pm to autograph volumes of End of an Earring.
The book covers everything from her childhood in foster care and her love of animals to her involvement in the women’s movement in the 1970s and her career as an actress, including a world tour as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Hedda Gabbler. She joined the cast of Eastenders in 1986.
“This memoir is far more than simply my story as an actress. I wanted to reveal something of myself and how I became who I am,” Pat said.
“I know a lot of shoppers in Bexleyheath will relate to my on-screen character. I have a huge affection for Pat, but as people we couldn’t be more different, so I’m excited to see people’s response to the book.”
Broadway manager Peter Sedge said: “It is great news that such a respected and well-loved actress as Pam St Clement will be here to meet shoppers.
“We’re really excited about hosting the event.”
The book costs £16.99 and is published tomorrow.
