A leading logistics company raised more than £10,000 for charity with a charity fun day.

Europa Worldwide, based in Erith, raised an impressive £13,500 on June 29 at Crofton Albion Sports and Social Club in Kidbrooke.

2,000 staff members, family, friends and customers attended and there was a football game, food stalls, an auction and bouncy castle.

Funds raised went to a variety of local organisations and during the event, Managing Director Andrew Baxter presented Newham East St John’s Ambulance with a cheque worth £500.

He said: “I would like to thank all Europa employees, their families, friends and our customers for their support and help towards making the Charity Fun Day such a fantastic day. We’ve once again raised a phenomenal amount of money for great causes local to our branches all over the UK.”

Carl Potter, Administration Director at Europa, added “This year’s Charity Fun Day was a resounding success; we had over 2,000 people come and enjoy a family day out. The weather was sunny with the occasional showers later on, but that didn’t dampen our spirits.

“The raffle was a particular highlight and Europa would like to thank many of our suppliers for donating some products for raffle prizes. It was a special day and we raised a lot of money for charity.”
