Erith drug dealer jailed

An Erith drug dealer has been sent to jail for two and a half years after pleading guilty of possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine.

Ali Haji, 23, was arrested by police after they searched a property in Hazel Road on August 30 last year. He was charged the following day.

He was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on January 18 to two 30 month terms to run alongside each other.

Bexley’s Det Ch Insp Gary Holmes said: “Haji was a very active criminal who made a career out of preying on vulnerable people by dealing in substantial quantities of class ‘A’ drugs.

“He now faces a 5-year prison sentence and rightly so.

“I hope that the lengthy custodial sentence handed down to this man will act as a deterrent to anyone out there who is thinking of committing such crimes.”
