Erith man Daryl McNamee is to stand trial accused of attempted murder after an alleged attack in Abbey Wood left a man with a fractured skull.

The 26-year-old denied the charge at Inner London Crown Court on Thursday and will appear at the same court for trial on November 11.

A 51-year-old man was attacked outside Argali House on St John Fisher Road just before midnight on July 2.

Paramedics rushed the victim to hospital where he was treated for serious head injuries.

A 25-year-old man from Belvedere, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has since been released without charge.
