An Erith musician is on cloud nine after winning a national award for the third year running.

Wayne Jacobs, of Riverdale Road, scooped the ukcountryradion.com Listeners Club Song Award 2014.

The 53-year-old civil servant won the award for his country song ‘In cold blood’, inspired by a true story about a homeless man who was shot on a bench in Nashville two years ago.

He previously won awards for his songs ‘Kentucky whisky’ and ‘I want my daddy’.

Mr Jacobs celebrated his win at ukcountryradio.com’s seventh birthday and awards party in Derby earlier this month.
