Staff raised nearly £300 for charity.

Stores at Erith Riverside Shopping Centre were thrilled after they raised £292 for Macmillan Cancer Support after their Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday.

The centre’s resident coffee house, Mambocino’s, raised £100 after donating 10p from every coffee sold throughout the day.

Nemesis Gym offered passers-by free coffee and cake in return for donations.

The Rotary Club and The Erith Town Forum raised more than £90 through a cake raffle and Matalan ran a tombola which raised £50.

Barry Owen, Centre Manager of Erith Riverside Shopping Centre, said: “This is the first time that the centre has taken part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning and we were thrilled with the response. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that took part in the coffee morning and to our shoppers for their incredible generosity. Macmillan relies on fundraising days such as these and we hope to support this incredible charity again in the future.”
