AN EVIL grin was spread across the face of the knife thug accused of murdering Robert Knox, a court heard yesterday (Feb 11).

Dean Saunders, 22, told jurors at the Old Bailey that Karl Bishop, 21, shot the demonic smile at him through the locked doors of Metro bar, in Station Road, Sidcup, minutes before he stabbed him and six friends on May 23 last year.

Giving evidence against Bishop, of Carlton Road, Sidcup, he told the court he was asked to guard the back door from gate crashers by a bouncer the night the 18-eyar-old Harry Potter actor was killed.

He said: "I was standing in the doorway, he was outside. He just walked up to the glass, smiled, and then walked off. It was like an evil grin."

Mr Saunders received a 1.5cm stab wound to his neck during the altercation that severed spinal nerves leaving him injured for life.

Sitting in court behind a screen separating him from Bishop, he told the court he has no memory of the stabbing and now uses a walking stick.

Jobless Bishop, of Carlton Road, Sidcup, denies murdering Rob Knox, of Maidstone Road, Sidcup, and wounding five of his friends in a 'revenge' attack.
