Transport for London is encouraging people to get out and about with the walks this autumn

Transport for London is inviting people to explore new corners of the capital with its series of Autumn Ambles.

It will be taking groups on a free, guided walk near Bexley on September 28, with no booking required. The walk is titled the Lost industries of Woolwich, with anyone interested in taking it meeting outside Charlton railway station, at the booking office at 11.00am.

The walk will last for around 6.5 hours, and will take ramblers over a distance of about seven miles. The walk’s leader is an expert on the industrial history of the area and active within the restoration of the Royal Arsenal’s railway heritage.
