THE funeral of a former Championship football physiotherapist will take place next Friday.

THE funeral of a former Championship football physiotherapist will take place next Friday.

A service for former Charlton Football Club assistant physio Bill Gallagher will take place at Eltham Crematorium at 11.15am.

Mr Gallagher died on September 6 after suffering from pneumonia, aged 79.

He initially joined the Addicks as an academy physio in 1977 and joined the club's full-time staff in December 1981 before leaving nine years later.

Prior to his career at the club, he worked as a physio for United States club Detroit Cougars from February 1968, and joined Dartford FC on his return to England.
