A scout group which gained more than 20 new members in nearly two years is in need of more volunteers and non-uniform members.
On May 7, 1st North Cray Scout Group will throw open its doors for a family barbecue, and hopes some attendees will be inspired to sign up afterwards.
“Having taken the reins in July 2015, when there were only four young people, our little team has grown into a lively group of 25,” explained group scout leader Nicola Coppen.
“Currently our leaders all multi-task across more than just their section and as such we need to build our leadership team.
“You will have support and help from our existing expereience leaders and the appreciation of all the young people to whom we are teaching new life skills.”
Mayor of Bexley Eileen Pallen is expected to attend the event which starts at 10am in Geoffrey Hall, Leafield Lane.
Ms Coppen added: “We also need non-uniform members for our executive committee as part of the Charity Commission regulations - including a treasurer and secretary.
“We are an active scout group for all sections and at 1st North Cray we have the benefit of wonderful open spaces at our hall and grounds as well as across the meadows. We offer a warm welcome to young people joining and to others wanting to help.”
Anyone wishing to attend is asked to RSVP to Otter1stNorthCray@outlook.com by May 5.
