Festival proves a crowd-puller

CROWDS braved the unsettled weather to enjoy a host of activities at a community festival last weekend.

CROWDS braved the unsettled weather to enjoy a host of activities at a community festival last weekend.

The Trust Thamesmead Community Festival had classic popstars Hot Chocolate perform alongside tribute acts The Blues Brothers Uncut and Lionel Richie lookalike Moni Tivony.

Community groups were invited to come out in force to Birchmere Park to raise money and awareness of their causes.

The festival included a Health Zone where peole could try Tai Chi or dancing, and a Sports Zone where Charlton Athletic FC and Thamesmead Town FC held demonstrations.

Gallions provided a Hawaiian Beach where children could ride donkeys or play in the sand.
