Firefighters pull moggy from riverbank mud

A CAT which got stuck in the mud on a riverbank was rescued by fire fighters on rafts.

A CAT which got stuck in the mud on a riverbank was rescued by fire fighters on rafts.

Crews helped pull the animal, named Sasha, to safety from the muddy Thames side near Macarthur Close, Erith, last Tuesday where it had been stranded for at least half an hour.

Fire officer Mark Bartholomew said: "We were really pleased that we rescued it. We think it was chased out there by a dog.
