Four injured in Sidcup barbecue explosion

Four people were injured after a barbecue exploded in Sidcup on Saturday evening (July 13).

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called at 6.30pm to Penhill Road.

A 17-year-old man was taken to King’s College Hospital with serious injuries while the other three were taken to a specialist burns unit in Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex.

An LAS spokeswoman said an air ambulance, three ambulance crews, a duty officer and a single responder in a car attended the scene.

The cause of the explosion is under police investigation.
